Ask a UK egg producer where their boxes come from and the answer is usually a distributor in Devon, Wiltshire, or East Anglia, not a factory. That matters, because it changes who you call, how much you must buy, and how long you wait.
This list covers ten egg carton suppliers serving UK buyers in 2026, from the moulded fibre makers behind the stock to the distributors and printers you can actually order from. We worked from each company’s own website and from GOV.UK and trading standards guidance, and we say where we could not confirm something. One disclosure: BonitoPak publishes this guide and is on the list. We put ourselves last and explain our limits plainly.
How the UK Egg Box Market Works
The suppliers we found fall into three groups. Moulded fibre manufacturers such as Hartmann and Huhtamaki make the cartons. Distributors such as Kpack and Dispak hold stock in the UK and sell it on by the case or the pallet. Smaller online sellers cover smallholders and farm shops that need a few hundred boxes. We found few UK carton factories, and most of the UK sellers we reviewed are distributors. UK buyers say egg boxes, and this guide uses both terms.

The 10 Egg Carton Suppliers
1. Hartmann
Hartmann says it is the world’s leading specialist in moulded fibre egg packaging. The Danish group introduced moulded fibre to Europe in 1917 and now runs 17 production sites across Europe, the Americas, and Asia, serving customers in more than 50 markets, mainly egg producers and packers supplying retailers. It sells to manufacturers, distributors, and retail chains.
Best for: packers and retailers buying at volume.
Keep in mind: we did not find a direct ordering route for small UK buyers, so expect to go through a distributor rather than the factory.
2. Huhtamaki
Huhtamaki’s fibre business focuses on moulded fibre egg cartons and egg trays, alongside fruit trays, other fresh produce packaging, cup carriers, and wine bottle separators. The group lists a United Kingdom fibre packaging arm on its website.
Best for: packers buying through the Huhtamaki distribution network.
Keep in mind: Kpack (next) says it is Huhtamaki’s sole UK distributor, which makes it the practical way in.
3. Kpack UK
Kpack, based in Uffculme near Exeter in Devon, says it has been Huhtamaki’s sole UK distributor for egg cartons, boxes, and trays since 1995. It stocks 6-egg free range, jumbo, and plain pre-packs, 10 and 15/18-egg packs, stock label and stock print packs, trays, outer cases, and quail egg boxes. For printed cartons it offers 4-colour printing on the top and sides with a 2-colour in-lid print, and it will help set up your own printed or labelled design.
Best for: producers and packers who want branded boxes from a stocked range.
Keep in mind: the site does not state a minimum for printed runs, so ask before you design anything.
4. Dispak
Dispak is a family-run supplier in Melksham, Wiltshire, with more than 50 years in egg packaging. It sells pulp and rPET prepacks, trays, corrugated outer cases, and labels, delivers nationwide, and runs depots in Wiltshire, Shropshire, and Scotland. It also supplies packaging printed with a customer’s own artwork. It describes itself as the UK’s largest wholesale merchant of egg boxes, which is the company’s own claim.
Best for: free range, barn, and organic packers.
Keep in mind: it is set up for steady volume, so it suits packers more than a smallholder buying a handful of boxes.
5. Anglia Farm Supplies
Anglia has sold egg packaging online since 2012 and offers free UK delivery. The range runs from economy and barn-style boxes to green, blue, pink, and yellow coloured boxes in 6, 10, and 12-cell sizes, plus XL duck egg boxes. Packs scale up to half and full pallets. A pack of 50 green 6-cell boxes for eggs up to 73g was listed at £12.95.
Best for: smallholders and farm shops.
Keep in mind: small packs cost more per box. The 50-pack works out to about 26p each.
6. Flyte so Fancy
Flyte so Fancy stocks plain and pre-labelled egg boxes, quail egg boxes, and transport trays in grey fibre and a range of colours. It lists economy grey boxes from 8p each at bulk quantities and pastel boxes from 12p. Personalised egg box labels are printed in-house in up to three working days, and stock items usually ship next working day.
Best for: small producers who want coloured boxes and quick personalised labels.
Keep in mind: the headline prices are bulk prices, so check the quantity tier and whether VAT is included.
7. Collins Nets
Collins Nets, a poultry-keeping retailer, sells fibre egg boxes for medium to large hen eggs in packs of 280 boxes of 6 at £36 including VAT, about 13p per box. It also stocks plastic and cardboard egg trays.
Best for: smallholders and farm shops buying a few hundred boxes at a time.
Keep in mind: the listing we reviewed is for plain boxes, so labels are a separate purchase.
8. Aly Packaging UK
Aly Packaging is a UK custom packaging manufacturer that makes bespoke printed egg boxes for 6, 12, or 18 eggs in cardboard, kraft, or corrugated board. It offers free design support and free UK delivery, and says UK egg marking compliance is built into its egg boxes.
Best for: brands, bakeries, and subscription sellers who want a designed box.
Keep in mind: these are printed board boxes, not moulded fibre, and it makes bespoke sizes only. Compliance stays your responsibility, so check every label against GOV.UK guidance.
9. Custom Boxes UK
Custom Boxes UK sells custom and wholesale cardboard egg packaging, described as recyclable and suited to free range, organic, or standard eggs. The page we reviewed gives few specifications.
Best for: small branded runs where a printed cardboard box suits.
Keep in mind: ask for sizes, board specification, and minimums before you order.
10. BonitoPak
We make moulded pulp egg cartons at our facility in Dongguan, China, and ship to more than 50 countries. We are not a stocked UK distributor. What we offer is custom egg trays cut per project, so cell geometry, count, and fibre match your spec. We colour the pulp itself across six systems with better than 95 percent Pantone accuracy, so the shade runs through the fibre. See our boîtes à œufs colorées et dry-press corrugated pulp egg cartons. Sample molds take 7 days, production molds follow 8 days after geometry approval, and minimums start at 1,000 pieces.
Best for: brands and specialty producers who need custom colour, bird-specific cells, or a shape a stocked range does not offer.
Keep in mind: imports add ocean freight, UK customs clearance, duty, and import VAT. Confirm the commodity code and current rates with a customs broker before you commit.
What Must Be on a UK Egg Box
A box is not a legal label on its own, but the design you buy must leave room for one. GOV.UK guidance says eggs must carry a best-before date no more than 28 days after laying, and buyers must be advised to keep eggs chilled. Producer code stamping on the egg applies to Class A eggs and to ungraded eggs sold at local markets by producers with more than 50 hens. Producers selling directly to consumers from their own farm or door to door are exempt from stamping, but must still show their name, address, and best-before date.
Boxes of graded Class A eggs carry more. Local authority trading standards guidance lists the Class A description, weight grade, production method, an explanation of the stamped code, the best-before date, and the packer’s name and address. A labelling supplier’s guide adds that small producers cannot call eggs Class A or Large unless they are registered as a packing centre. Rules are enforced locally, so check with your trading standards office before you print.
How to Choose an Egg Box Supplier
- Start with volume. Under a few hundred boxes, buy from an online seller. In the thousands, use a distributor. Pallets and printed runs are distributor territory.
- Decide label or print. A printed label on a plain box is the cheapest way to brand. Printed boxes need a minimum run and lead time.
- Match box to egg. Anglia lists its 6-cell boxes for eggs up to 73g, and duck eggs need XL boxes.
- Compare delivered cost. Include delivery, VAT, and for imports freight, duty, and customs fees.
- Ask about lead times. Stocked items ship in days. Custom printed and imported cartons take weeks, so order before you run out.
